Policy 1025 Implementation Procedures - Title IX Sexual Harassment

Implementation Procedures

Effective immediately, Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) Superintendent William J. Barnes is suspending implementation of Board Policy 1025 – Title IX Sexual Harassment as the language in the current policy is inconsistent with recent changes to federal regulation and court actions. Due to these inconsistencies, and to ensure the safety and welfare of students, employees, and others, the Superintendent will not implement the procedures included in the policy until they can be updated to reflect current regulations.

The Superintendent and school system staff will continue to address instances of potential sexual discrimination in accordance with Policy 1020 Sexual Harassment, Sexual Discrimination, and Sexual Misconduct through the Title IX Coordinator and the Human Resources Executive Officer when a report of sexual discrimination is made.
