Implementation Procedures

Outside organizations must request approval by the Office of School Administration for participation in contests.

If an outside organization submits a request for participation, the Office of School Administration will make the decision with input from the appropriate curriculum office.

Organizations must be informed that ownership of copyright in any work submitted for contests belongs to the student-author and/or creator of the work and any subsequent use or application of the work without the expressed written permission of the student-author and/or creator of the work may violate federal copyright laws.

The Office of School Administration will notify principals of any approved contests.

The Office of School Administration will create and maintain a systemwide database of approved contests.

School-based Administrators will decide whether or not their schools participate in approved contests.
